Texans rookie explains how C.J. Stroud is helping make him a better DB

Most of the attention for new arrivals on the Houston Texans has been focused on the veterans they brought in this offseason. They traded for Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon and signed Danielle Hutner and Denico Autry , among others. Not a whole lot of ink has been spilled over Houston's 2024 NFL draft class, though.

The biggest name in that bunch is former Georgia cornerback Kamari Lassiter, who the Texans picked in the second round at No. 42 overall. If nothing else it sounds like Lassiter has a strong understanding of the game and how he has to grow as a defender. Here he is after practice talking about how he has a 2-on-1 matchup every rep, not only covering an excellent group of wide receivers , but also having to read quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Lassiter is currently competing with veterans C.J. Henderson and Jeff Okudah for the right to start on the boundary opposite Derek Stingley. That particular battle has been named as the most-important to watch for the Texans at training camp.
