IDAHO FALLS — An inmate at the Bonneville County Jail passed away this morning after being found unresponsive in his cell.

The inmate, 43 year old Lucas Lamar Charboneau, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail by the Idaho Falls Police on August 20th for Felony charges of Aggravated Battery and Attempted Murder.

Deputies found Mr. Charboneau unresponsive in a cell at approximately 5:25am and began life saving measures until Idaho Falls Ambulance arrived.

Charboneau was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment but eventually passed away.

As a standard practice for these types of incidents, Bonneville County Sheriff Sam Hulse requested assistance from the Tri-County Sheriff’s Association to begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Further updates will be available at a later date.
