Much of the hype around the Indianapolis Colts belongs to their budding star at quarterback, but they have another player ascending the ranks of NFL offensive tackles.

Entering his third NFL season, Colts left tackle Bernhard Raimann is ready to take the next step.

Bouncing back in 2023 following a rough rookie season, the Austria native put himself on the map with a strong campaign. Now, he's taking on an even bigger role.

That's partly why Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News dubbed Raimann as the team's most important non-quarterback in 2024.

"The Colts had a few choices here outside of Anthony Richardson, including offensive skill stars Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr. But Raimann was the right choice. His ability to hold up in front of Richardson will buy him time to stretch the field with Pittman and other wide receivers, and also open up running lanes for Taylor," wrote Iyer.

Raimann was strong as a pass protector, showing immense improvements in his game. He allowed 34 total pressures and four sacks on 620 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. His 81.3 pass-blocking grade ranked ninth among all NFL tackles.

The entire offensive line took a major step forward for the Colts in 2023, and Raimann was a big reason why.

Now, he has the chance to truly ascend as one of the Colts' most important players during his third season.
