When Caitlin Clark announced the decision to forgo her final season of collegiate eligibility and enter the WNBA draft, Iowa was left with a gaping void on its roster.

While no player can truly replace Clark's impact, the Hawkeyes got pretty close with an excellent addition through the transfer portal.

Iowa landed a commitment from former Villanova star Lucy Olsen, who finished third in NCAA scoring (23.3 ppg) this past season — trailing only Clark and USC's JuJu Watkins.

On Tuesday, Olsen opened up about filling Clark's shoes at Iowa.

"I want to be the best I can. I'm not gonna be Caitlin Clark. There's not gonna be another Caitlin Clark. She's amazing and she's done such great things here. But I think she's definitely paved the way to how hard you should work, what expectations there are and what type of program this is," Olsen said, via team insider Tyler Tachman.

Olsen was a much-needed addition for the Hawkeyes as they head into the first season of the post-Lisa Bluder era. The former Villanova guard takes over a Hawkeyes backcourt that lost Clark, Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall and Molly Davis.
