A toddler has died after being left in a hot car alongside his four siblings, with his parents charged with his murder . The alarm was raised by staff at Arkansas Children's Hospital on Sunday afternoon when they were administering urgent care to the three-year-old of Deja and Justin Collins, and decided to file a child abuse report to police.

Police then contacted hospital security to say the couple had four other children, aged two, four, seven and 10, who were languishing in a hot vehicle in a parking lot nearby, reports CBS Little Rock affiliate KTHV.

The children were brought into the hospital for treatment but the two-year-old did not survive, and passed away, apparently from heat exhaustion, the next day. The Rollins', from Jacksonville, have been charged with capital murder . They have pleaded not guilty.

Besides the murder charges, they also each face charges of domestic battery, neglect and child endangerment of all five of their children, as well as animal cruelty and obstruction after a malnourished dog was found at their home.
