“Bring him home” Jacksonville family needs help finding missing man

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. – Concerns are heating up as the trail becomes colder to find a missing Jacksonville man.

Monday, the Jacksonville Police Department requested the public’s assistance with locating 36-year-old Marcus Deshone Hildreth who was last spotted a week earlier on July 22 near St. Luke’s Baptist Church.

That is 3.5 miles from where he lived, and it is a path his brother, Joseph Stewart, and sister, Anita Grimes, have become very familiar with since.

“We are starting to take things on our instinct because we don’t know where he is right now,” Stewart said.

Monday was the most recent time they walked in their brother’s last known footsteps and wished there was a step-by-step approach to finding him.

“Walking up and down these streets by myself thinking hopefully he will jump out at me or something, but that’s all I can do,” Grimes explained.

She last spoke with her younger brother on the phone on July 21. She says the call was completely normal, but by the time she got home, it was empty.

“It is just kinda crazy for him to just disappear. No car, no phone, nothing,” Grimes stated.

Jacksonville Police say Hildreth is 5’9”, 160 pounds, with black hair. He was last seen wearing red Reebok slides with black and gray pajama pants.

Joseph Stewart says his younger brother, Marcus is a funny guy who was always laughing. He described his brother as laid back and quiet, adding he did not bother anyone.

“That’s my brother, and I love him to death,” Stewart said.

Hildreth’s siblings say he has three young children and had a new job lined up last week, which he never arrived to. Stewart says he is unsure if the disappearance was his brother’s intention or an act outside his control.

“We love you. If you can snap out of it, snap out of it,” Stewart urged. “We can’t work. We can’t sleep. We can’t eat. We can’t do nothing.”.

Jacksonville police ask any information be passed along to Detective Hernandez at (501) 985-2802 in reference to report 24-03830.

“Any type of glance at him, if you think it was him, I mean call me. Let me know. Any time of the day,” she said.
