A craft beer and wine store has some Downtown restaurant operators concerned.

The owner of a new craft beer and wine store to open on Sixth Street in Downtown says that it will be an asset to the city.

According to the Post-Gazette, Bridges and Bottles will be taking a 3,500-square-foot space in the Roosevelt Building in the heart of the Sixth Street restaurant corridor.

A business plan describes the store at 137 Sixth as a “flagship venture poised to revolutionize the craft beer and wine scene in Pittsburgh.”

However, some Sixth Street restaurant owners fear the store will be no different than common beer outlets on Wood Street and Liberty Avenue and that it will be detrimental to one of Downtown’s top dining destinations.
