NEOSHO, Mo. (KOAM) -- The Neosho Arts Council is hosting its annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest during the Neosho Fall Festival.

"There's something very special about the community coming together each fall and transforming our historic downtown with creative works of art on the sidewalks," said Sarah Serio, president of Neosho Arts Council.

According to the Neosho Arts Council, the purpose of the contest is to engage the community with a creative and fun activity during the celebration.

The council says the contest is open to kids, teens, and adults and features cash prize in each age group. Ages six to 15 can enter the contest for free, while ages 16 and up will need to pay a $10 entry fee. Top prize in the age 16 and up division is $300.

"Each year we are amazed at the creative works in each division," Serio said. "Everyone from elementary aged kids to professional artists look forward to the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest."

The Neosho Arts Council says the contest starts at 10 a.m. and the judging is at 2 p.m.
