Welcome our newest reporter, Makayla Strickland

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The KOLR10/FOX49 family is excited to welcome its newest on-air team member!  Makayla Strickland moved to her new role in front of the camera as a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist in May 2024.  Before that, starting in 2022, she worked behind the scenes as an associate producer for KOLR10/FOX49’s Daybreak and Midday shows.  She’s now looking forward to sharing your stories from a new perspective.

Makayla explained, “I’m most excited about sharing stories of the Ozarks!”

While she may be new to our at-home viewers, she is no stranger to southwest Missouri. She grew up in Dallas County and graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield.

“I am from Buffalo, just a quick trip north of Springfield,” she explained.  “Though I’ve lived here my whole life, there are many parts of our area and culture that are still looking to be explored and I am ready to tap into it!”
