    Willow Springs loses shootout in semis, finishes fourth in state softball

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Willow Springs Bears faced Diamond in a state softball Class Two semifinal Monday.

    Willow Springs is 24-6 and rode a four game winning streak into the state semifinals.

    Diamond is a juggernaut, sporting a 36-1 record.

    That lone loss to a Kansas team at the end of April.

    Diamond fell behind early, 3-1 but rallied to beat Willow Springs 13-3.

    The Bears then lost to Lone Jack 5-2 in the third place game.
