Idaho's unemployment rate grows in June compared to May
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Labor reported on Friday the unemployment rate in the Gem State increased from 3.3% to 3.4% in June, as compared to May. According to the department's report, unemployment increased by 578 people (1.8%) to 33,162. However, the total number of employees also increased by 1,649 people (0.2%) to 944,740.
White supremacist who sparked massive manhunt after escaping Idaho hospital is jailed for life
Skylar Meade, an Idaho inmate who sparked a huge police manhunt after he was sprung from custody in an ambush at a hospital in March, has been sentenced to life in prison. Meade’s sentence is a fixed term of 30 years. He has been ordered to serve another 35 years concurrently on other charges, according to Idaho News 6. At the time of his escape, Meade, 31, was serving a 20-year prison sentence for shooting a sheriff in a high-speed car chase.
