    Kansas school rewards perfect attendance with car giveaway

    MANHATTAN ( KSNT ) – This year one lucky student will drive away with a 2016 Kia SOUL.

    For more than 20 years Briggs Automotive has sponsored a program at Manhattan High School that rewards students with perfect attendance with a giveaway car. This year, 30 students will be entering a random drawing for a chance to win the car.

    Manhattan High School Principal Michael Dorst said the program had been paused for four years during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This year the giveaway was postponed to Thursday, Sept. 12 due to weather conditions. The giveaway will take place at the opening home football game vs. Lawrence Free State.

    “We like to support anything that we can especially with the community and the upcoming of our future honestly,” Kent Briggs, One of the Executive Managers at Briggs Automotive. said. “You know that’s one of the biggest things that anyone can donate to is the well-being of the children that will be us in the future. “

    The giveaway will happen just before kickoff at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the game.
