Pleasantville Baseball Defeats Interstate 35 in Substate Semifinals
The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Interstate 35 8-1 in the Class 2A Substate 6 semifinals Saturday night. The Trojans played lights out offensively late in the contest against a Roadrunners team that they had seen twice earlier in the season. Brayden Kennedy got the win for the Trojans coming in during the fourth inning with two outs. Caylor Jones was the starting pitcher for Pleasantville going 3 ⅔ innings. Going into the fifth inning, the Trojans held just a slight 2-1 advantage but the bats came alive with Pleasantville scoring three runs in the fifth and three in the sixth. Braylon Bingham and JJ Phillips both had three hits in the contest while Logan Roff and Dylan Aldrich both had two hits and two RBI apiece. Caleb Cook also had a crucial RBI double in the game.’
