McCarl Beats Madsen In Late Race Duel
What started as the Brothers McCarl battle, became a wild three lap back-and-forth between Austin McCarl and Kerry Madsen as McCarl outdueled Madsen to the line in the 410 feature on another sizzling night of racing at the Knoxville Raceway. Garet Williamson started on the pole and checked out when the green flag dropped, but Williamson dropped out when he spun and caught the berm on lap five. He would lead the final ten laps but Kerry Madsen seemed to have a faster car, but never could out run McCarl. He told KNIA/KRLS that he had thrown just about everything at the car and knew Madsen would give him all he could handle.
