Kenton welcomed Eastwood for exciting home opener
Kenton high school football opened the season hosting Eastwood. The Wildcats opened the scoring on a 72 yard TD drive then Eastwood answered with 31 straight points. Kenton would find the endzone once more to head to halftime down 14-31. The Wildcats then opened up the scoring in the 2nd half with a 14 point run of their own to chop the lead down to just three points heading to the final frame. Soccer Recap: Local Teams Face Narrow Defeats and Tough Competition
The West Liberty-Salem Tigers endured a narrow 1-0 defeat against league-rival Fairbanks on Thursday night. The game’s only goal came from a controversial penalty kick. Despite the loss, goalkeeper Tucker Searles had an impressive performance with three saves, helping to keep the game close. Earlier in the season, the Tigers also faced a tough challenge in their opener, falling 1-3 to Legacy Christian with Troy Christison scoring the team’s lone goal. West Liberty-Salem will be back in action on September 29 at home against Graham, with a 7 pm kickoff. The JV team will play at home this Saturday against Kenton Ridge at 1:30 pm.
