HTL: Kienbaum, Hansen homer as Fort Atkinson defeats Lake Mills 20-4

FORT ATKINSON -- Conner Kienbaum and Jake Hansen both homered as the Fort Atkinson Generals trounced the Lake Mills Grays 20-4 in seven innings in Home Talent League baseball at Jones Park on Sunday.

The Generals (6-4, 4-2 in division games) scored in all but one of their at bats, including an eight-run rally in the sixth inning.

Cam Haagensen produced a two-run single in the Fort third.

After the Grays tied it up at 4-4 on Kevin Paluch's two-run single and Freddy Hosey RBI single in the top of the fourth, Kienbaum doubled home a pair as part of a three-run fourth for the Generals, who jumped ahead 7-4.

Winning pitcher Drew Dunkleberger doubled to open the fifth and scored on Austin Paul's triple to right field. Kienbaum's solo blast to left field later in the inning pushed the margin to 12-4. Kienbaum drove in four runs.

Hansen hit a two-run shot to right with one away in the sixth.

Dunkleberger allowed four earned runs on five hits in four innings. Branden Zastrow then tossed two shutout innings before Jay Rueth threw a scoreless seventh.

Wyatt Werner started for Lake Mills and took the loss, allowing seven earned runs while walking nine and striking out six in four innings.

Paluch and Hosey had two hits apiece for the Grays (0-11, 0-6), who host McFarland next Sunday at 1 p.m.
