LANCASTER – The Mid-State League-Buckeye and Cardinal Divisions have recognized their all-conference softball teams, including Players and Coaches of the Year.
MSL-Buckeye Division
First Team: Payton Hochradel and Suzie Shultz, Liberty Union; Sophia Gleim, Madi Grefe and Ady Luke, Bloom-Carroll; Adelyn Wolfe and Kaylie Emswiler, Fairfield Union; Haley Robinson, Amanda-Clearcreek.
Second Team: Haeden Brunty, Liberty Union; Maddi Walters and Madelyn Gates, Bloom-Carroll; Ella Harmon, Fairfield Union; Averie Hutchison, Amanda-Clearcreek.
Honorable Mention: Emmalee Putnam, Masie Buskirk and Macie Wollenberg, Liberty Union; Hayden Hubner and Claire Whitcraft, Bloom-Carroll; Maddi Lanning and Gauge Mitchell, Fairfield Union; Alex Martin, Amanda-Clearcreek.
Player of the Year: Payton Hochradel, Liberty Union
Liberty Union won the Division III state championship and finished with a 24-6 overall record, and Logan Elm made it to the Division II state tournament. Teays Valley won the league title with an 11-3 mark and was followed by the Lions (10-4), Bloom-Carroll (9-5), Logan Elm (9-5), Circleville (7-7), Fairfield Union (5-9), Amanda-Clearcreek (4-10) and Hamilton Township (1-13).
MSL-Cardinal Division
First Team: Jayda Dixon and Ava Brue, Fisher Catholic; Veronica Rarey, Emma Raver, Alexis Barch, Kendyl Bonkowski and Emily Blevins, Millersport; Josilyn Hedges and Aleah Smiley, Berne Union; Lylee Marcinko, Fairfield Christian Academy.
Second Team: Harper Kline, Lauren Kersell and Lucy Watkins, Fisher Catholic; Mia Hintz and Karlee Morgan, Berne Union; Katy Smeltzer and Caitlin Blair, Fairfield Christian Academy.
Honorable Mention: Aubrie Beauseau, Fisher Catholic; Rylee North, Berne Union; Scarlet Sheets and Haiden Byrd, Millersport; Grace Johnson, Fairfield Christian Academy.
Player of the Year: Emma Raver, Millersport
Coach of the Year: Aaron Mitchell, Fisher Catholic
Fisher Catholic won the league title with a 15-1 record and was followed by Grove City Christian (14-2), Millersport (11-5), Miller (10-5), Berne Union (9-7); Zanesville Rosecrans (6-10), Fairfield Christian Academy (3-12), Wellington (2-13) and Harvest Prep (0-15).
