Woman accused of dumpster diving at Youngstown store, throwing corn starch at guard
A woman who was dumpster diving at the back of a Save-A-Lot on South Avenue got upset and threw a bag of corn starch at a security guard and a manager. Youngstown police were called to the store on Saturday after employees reported a woman, identified as Summer Jackson, to be taking rotten meat from the dumpster, according to a police report.

Suspect in New Castle homicide arrested in Mahoning County
The suspect who was wanted in connection with a homicide New Castle has been arrested in Mahoning County on Wednesday. According to jail records, 32-year-old Andrew Howard was arrested by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority on a charge of fugitive from justice. Jail records show him to have had a warrant for criminal homicide out of Lawrence County.
Million dollar bond set for suspect in 2021 Youngstown homicide
Bond has been set at a million dollars for the suspect in a homicide in Youngstown back in 2021. Twenty-six-year-old Durrell Richardson was arraigned via video Wednesday afternoon on charges of Aggravated Murder and Felonious Assault. Bond has been set at $1 million. Prosecutors believe Richardson to be a flight risk and a danger to the community.

The final defendant in a Trumbull County arson death /aggravated murder capital case pleaded guilty on Friday and was sentenced to a life prison term immediately. Patricia A. Zarlingo, 29, of Youngstown, received a life prison sentence with first chance at parole after she serves 35 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to one count aggravated murder, two counts attempted aggravated murder, two counts aggravated arson, one count aggravated burglary and one count tampering with evidence.

Police in Youngstown are investigating after a barber shop was shot up in the city early Tuesday morning. According to the police report, the call came in just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting gunshots heard in an area of Mahoning Avenue. Canfield woman sues neighbors, city over 'sinkhole' injury
A Canfield woman is suing the city and neighbors claiming she was permanently injured after stumbling on a sinkhole down the street from her home. The civil lawsuit filed in common pleas court by Gina Powell seeks more than $25,000 in damages claiming that on June 22, 2022, she fell into “a concealed sinkhole” while walking along Fairview Avenue, a few doors away from her house.
