Navy Hosts Futures Game at U.S. Naval War College
JULY 19, 2024 – Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Lisa Franchetti hosted the CNO Futures Game at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, July 16-17. Franchetti emphasized the need for leaders across the Joint Force to think, act, and operate differently, and seek ways to integrate conventional capability with hybrid, unmanned, and disruptive technologies, because tomorrow’s battlefield will be incredibly challenging and complex.

New Dog Park Set to Open by End of Year
As the Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s Pell Bridge ramp realignment concludes in Newport, one final piece of the project will soon have many tails wagging. A 23,000-square-foot dog park is being built off Farewell Street and JT Connell Highway and is intended to replicate the former dog park that closed in 2021 as part of the project. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year, according to RIDOT.

(WJAR) — Federal prosecutors in Florida announced that a Rhode Island man was sentenced to two years in prison for making a fake bomb threat in an airplane. Poll: McKee's favorability drops among Rhode Island voters

Dan McKee's ratings are continuing to drop, according to a new poll, which found voters overwhelmingly think the state is headed in the wrong direction. The poll, released Thursday by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, found only 29% approve of McKee's performance as governor, while 65% disapprove.
