Son pushes father off ladder over covering a security camera

JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A son pushes his father off a ladder and strangles him during an argument regarding covering a security camera .

Corey Ray Cooper, the defendant, pushed his father off a ladder to the ground at 108 Purdy Lane in Ravenswood, Jackson County, WV , during a heated argument regarding the covering of a security camera at the home.

Corey then overpowered his father and began to strangle him with his hands around his father’s neck. Corey’s mother called 911, and Corey fled the scene before the authorities arrived.

Officer Morehead observed injuries on the father’s back, elbow, and forearm that corresponded with his account. The father also reported pain in his neck and back from the assault.

The mother provided an audio recording from the security camera at the location. Still, she could not show the visual footage because Corey had covered the camera with a bag before the incident.

Officer Morehead respectfully requests a warrant for strangulation against the defendant, Corey Ray Cooper.
