Patrick Mahomes Made an Unprecedented College Football Announcement

Patrick Mahomes is making some major moves this NFL offseason.

On July 1, Mahomes announced an unprecedented partnership between himself, Adidas and his alma mater: Texas Tech.

The Texas Tech football program is beginning a new 10-year partnership with Adidas, making it the university's official footwear, uniform, apparel and accessory provider.

The Red Raiders athletic department announced the news with a special video on social media, "ripping off the tape" on a new football field design featuring the Adidas logo and Mahomes' personal brand logo.

"I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for Texas Tech and I'm proud to have helped bring Red Raider Nation into the three-stripe family," Mahomes said in a statement. "Today is just the beginning of an incredible partnership with Adidas."

“This is a monumental day as we align the power of Texas Tech Athletics with a global brand like Adidas and a generational athlete like Patrick Mahomes, a proud Texas Tech alum,” Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt added.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are after the first ever Super Bowl three-peat this coming NFL season. Texas Tech will kickoff its 2024 season with a matchup against Abilene Christian on August 31.
