LSU Baseball commit Marshall Louque is living out a dream as the Lutcher, La. native gets a chance to go to his favorite school. The infielder and right-handed pitcher is ready to get to Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

“It’s been a dream to play there my whole life since I was a kid and the coaches are great coaches,” Louque told On3. “It’s the best college field in the world. Great atmosphere and great fans.”

Lutcher’s given LSU the beauty of “vintage” Jared Poché on the mound. Louque watched the former Lutcher star as well as other Tiger greats growing up.

“Before I was born, my family were big LSU fans and when I grew up, at the age of 5 I wanted to go there,” Louque said. “I looked up to former LSU players like Alex Bregman and Jared Poche and wanted to be like them.”

LSU coach Jay Johnson impressed the 6-3, 195-pound prospect with how he runs the program.

“I like the way he runs things as a coach,” Louque said. “I like the way he coaches to do the little things right.”

He’s having a strong summer so far as he works both on his hitting and on the mound.

“I feel like I’m a great competitor. I play the game the right way and on the mound I compete and in the box, I feel like I’m a hard out to get,” he said. “I’m trying to gain more velo on the mound and in the box to make small adjustments to my swing by staying short and quick to the ball.”

Perfect Game ranks Louque as an 8.5, which places him between a Top 10 round MLB Draft prospect and being an elite college prospect.
