Summer, 2024: East Brunswick Board of Education Meeting Schedule Update
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick Board of Education has announced that the meeting planned for August 15, 2024, has been canceled. There is no notice of a rescheduling of this meeting. The Board Office has confirmed that there will be a meeting this Thursday night, July 11, at 7:30 pm. Rutgers Raises Tuition, Student Fees 4% as part of $5.6B Budget
NEW BRUNSWICK – The typical Rutgers undergraduate student will face a 4% tuition increase for the 2024-25 academic year, and mandatory student fees will also rise by 4%. Additionally, housing room rates and residents’ education fees will go up 6% and dining plan rates will increase by 8% for students on the New Brunswick and Newark campuses. Rutgers University Selects SolarEdge Technologies for Its Agrivoltaics Research
Rutgers research will assist the Dual-Use Solar Energy Pilot Program that will be administered by the NJBPU. The pilot program is a three-year, 200 MW agrivoltaics initiative with the goal of exploring the feasibility and benefits of agrivoltaics. The pilot program is a collaborative effort including the NJBPU, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the State Agricultural Development Committee, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and the Rutgers Agrivoltaics Program.

Each June, during the last days of the school year, the Cranford Historical Society takes part in the highly anticipated Cranford High School Senior Awards night. An impressive number of scholarships are awarded to students based on academic achievement, community service and a variety of other criteria. Scholarships are awarded by community organizations as well as individuals who remember their loved ones with memorial scholarships. Jr. Highlanders Win 11U State Championship
BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Jr. Highlanders have secured another state championship, this time for their 11U team. On June 23, the boys clinched their fourth consecutive District 12 Tournament title by defeating Cranford 4-1 in the final. Following their district win, the Jr. Highlanders competed in the Northern NJ State Tournament at Mountain View Park in Hillsborough. The championship game was a nail-biter, ending in a dramatic 6-5 walk-off victory over East Brunswick in extra innings.
