Expect more delays after dark on JWP

Happy Father’s Day to late-night commuting dads and good luck to anyone who needs to share the road with them next week.

Tolleson-based Cactus Asphalt will apply thermoplastic line striping on North John Wayne Parkway from West Smith-Enke Road to the southern city limits nightly starting Sunday.

The restrictions will run from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. until Thursday, according to city spokesperson Monica Williams.

Another major restriction will affect Hidden Valley residents and Gila Bend commuters driving on State Route 238 Wednesday.

Cactus Asphalt will do road repairs on the highway between Roosevelt Avenue and western city limits, about 1,500 feet east of Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, according to the city website.

SR 238 will be cut down to one lane from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a pilot car and flaggers directing traffic.
