Eyelashed minivan hits head-on in 3-car crash on JWP

A three-car, head-on crash is blocking John Wayne Parkway near Alterra Parkway.

Around 3:30 p.m., a white, eyelash-wearing Toyota Sienna minivan crashed head-on into a northbound black Nissan Titan pickup truck on northbound John Wayne Parkway.

A grey Toyota Camry crashed into the rear side of the minivan. Airbags were deployed in the minivan and the sedan, and the sedan driver was loaded into a firetruck.

Maricopa Fire and Medical Department responded with one fire engine; Maricopa Police Department responded with four squad cars and ambulances were seen at the intersection at 3:45 p.m.

Northbound traffic on John Wayne Parkway is blocked and traffic is being routed onto the shoulder. Southbound John Wayne Parkway is not affected, but the intersection with M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard into Copper Sky is blocked.

A tow truck arrived at 4 p.m.
