Longmont workers to spray for mosquitoes Thursday
Longmont officials plan to spray for mosquitoes on Thursday in certain areas of the city, after monitors found West Nile virus in mosquitos in Weld County. Workers will spray the following areas starting at sunset Thursday: Jim Hamm Nature Area, Sandstone Ranch, Union Reservoir, Izaak Walton Park and Great Western Cattail Court.

On June 21, the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) board awarded a $1,100,000 grant to the City of Loveland Open Lands and Trails to add 140 acres to the Prairie Ridge Natural Area.
