    Driver allegedly fires shots at car he followed from Southaven to Memphis

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say an 18-year-old followed his former classmate from Southaven to Memphis and fired several shots at his car, which had two other people inside.

    Charles King, 18, is charged with three counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

    His bond has been set at $100,000.

    On June 18, officers responded to an incident in the 4100 block of South Third Street.

    The victim told police he was stopped at a gas station in Southaven when he saw Charles King, who he went to high school with. When he and his two passengers got back in the car to leave, he reportedly saw King follow them in a Nissan Maxima.

    According to MPD, the victim drove into Memphis, and when he approached Third Street, he heard three gunshots coming from King’s car.

    The victim’s vehicle was struck three times.

    Charles King was identified by all three of the victims. He is set to appear in court Thursday morning.
