MIAMI - A man and a woman wanted in connection with a shooting in Palm Beach County were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following a violent crash in Miami involving several vehicles.

Police chase comes to end with rollover crash in Miami 02:00

The crash happened on the corner of NE 82nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard and caused a City of Miami police vehicle to flip over.

Despite the severity of the crash, police say no one was hurt.

Police say the suspect led police on a chase at around 1:45 p.m. and ultimately crashed into four other cars.

The call originally came from Miami-Dade police, who were first following the suspect vehicle, before Miami Police Tactical Robbery Unit joined the pursuit.

With weapons drawn and surrounding a white Audi SUV, Miami officers took down a man who police believe may have been involved in a shooting out of Palm Beach County. The woman had been driving the Audi, according to police.

Mike Vega, Public Information Officer with City of Miami Police, told CBS News Miami that the man and woman were wanted for a shooting in Palm Beach County.

Miami Police shared on X that Biscayne Boulevard was closed between 81st and 84th Streets during the investigation.

"We just heard like a boom and then a car flipped in the middle of the street and a bunch of cops just came around and whole commotion," said Anas Chabia, a witness.

Chabia was working at One-tech Repair Center, just feet away from the crash.

"As soon as the whole thing started, we went to the back to be safe because we have the window and the car started flipping and coming," said Chabia.

The wreck left several blocks of Biscayne Boulevard closed off for about four hours, creating a headache for drivers during rush hour and impacting businesses, like TruCutz Uptown.

"They messed up everybody's business for the whole day from all the way over here — from 82nd Biscayne — all the way down to North Bay Village," said Jamal Diab, who works at TruCutz Uptown.

"We put our lives at risk to stop the bad guy, and this is a prime example of the things that can happen on any day. Thank God that everyone was okay, no one was seriously injured," said Vega.

We reached out to Palm Beach County about the details of the shooting, and we're still waiting to hear back.

As for the two people who were arrested, their identities have not yet been released.
