The Michigan football program is known for the strength of its offensive line, which pulverized Penn State, Alabama, Ohio State and Washington last season on the way to a 15-0 record and the program's first national title since 1997.

New Michigan coach Sherrone Moore is a former offensive lineman himself who helped train and build up the players who would lead Michigan to glory.

Recently, it was announced that one of Moore's prized recruits for the class of 2025 outperformed his star ranking, taking home MVP honors at a prestigious camp.

Avery Gach, a four-star offensive lineman who hails from Franklin, Michigan, northwest of Detroit, surprised many onlookers by winning Offensive Line MVP honors at the Rivals Camp five-star event.

"Gach came into the event as one of the more unknown prospects because we haven't seen him much at national events," Rivals analyst Greg Smith wrote on X .

"He showed up big by winning offensive line MVP. The Michigan commit is strong at the point of attack and once he got his hands on opposing defenders the rep was over.

"Gach was also very athletic and event competed in the fastest man competition. He's in line for a very nice bump in the next rankings update."

Gach had offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, Georgia, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama, Penn State and others, but chose Moore and the Wolverines after being recruited by another former offensive lineman who is now the offensive line coach, Grant Newsome.
