Why you should stay here over the holidays

During the winter and holiday months, it is hard to get the entire family outside. Several years ago, we decided to start doing staycations not only to help our mental welfare, but to help support the local economy.

In years past, we have stayed at the Gaylord in Aurora, Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk, and the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, in Denver. Our favorite is to do staycations in Downtown Denver so we can attend one of the great performances at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on Christmas Eve.

One of our favorite places to do a staycation is the Brown Palace. The historic Brown Palace is in the heart of Downtown Denver, nestled between skyscrapers. The building holds stories, history, and elegance that is hard to surpass. The structure has a unique triangle shape and décor. Which is one of the many things that gives the Brown Palace its charm. When staying at the Brown Palace, during the holiday season and into January, it is all about downtown shows for us. We love to attend the several holiday show the Denver Performance Art center has to offer. This year they also are featuring Camp Christmas. An immersive event. See hotel video tour
