Montgomery police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that left one 16-year-old dead and another 16-year-old wounded.

At about 4:32 p.m., police went to a local hospital on a report of a shooting, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found two 16-year-old males who had been shot: one juvenile with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and one juvenile male with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The second juvenile was later pronounced dead, Coleman said.

It was later determined that the shootings occurred in the area of Hilldale Drive, she said.
