Man arrested at Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe for loaded firearm

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On Monday, August 19, 2024, according to a police report, a student reported that a white male dropped a loaded magazine inside the Louisiana Delta Community College bookstore.

According to the report, officers contacted John Hardy. Hardy was then escorted to the patrol office and advised officers he knew why he was there.

Hardy was then advised of his Miranda rights and then allegedly told officers he had a handgun on his waistband. The officer then removed the Rock Island 10 mm handgun, which was loaded with one round in the chamber, according to the report.

Hardy also had a second magazine loaded in his left jacket pocket. He was arrested, transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center, and booked for Carrying a Firearm, or Dangerous Weapon on School Property, at School-sponsored Functions or Firearm-free Zone.
