W-SR Baseball Players Named All Conference
A good number of Waverly-Shell Rock baseball players have been honored by the Northeast Iowa Conference. The Go-Hawks on the final all conference teams ever were: On 1st Team pitcher Jack Wedemeier, and outfielder Ayden Hoffert; on 2nd Team pitcher Grant Parker, catcher Jack Elsamiller, infielder Gehrig Tibbitts and outfielder Nolan Foster.
One person flown to the hospital after Charles City auto accident
CHARLES CITY, Iowa – One person was flown to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning. Charles City Fire Rescue says it was called to the accident south of town around 5:15 am and arrived to find two cars with significant damage. One person was already receiving medical treatment by AMR Ambulance Service. A second person had to be removed from a vehicle using hydraulic spreaders and cutters.
