The New Orleans Saints released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2024 offseason. Time to panic! In actuality, these don't tell the entire story for teams entering the regular season.
There's a lot of time for position battles to unfold differently than the depth charts may project. Only time will tell.

Dallin Holker listed as TE3 with Juwan Johnson out
Holker has impressed during camp so far. If I had to guess before this released, I'd say he was closer to TE1 with Johnson out.
Instead, he follows Foster Moreau and Michael Jacobsen. Moreau is a veteran who was with the Saints last year and holds a strong relationship with Derek Carr. That one does not shock me.
As for Jacobsen, he has quietly had a good camp as well. His balanced game has clearly made an impact on coaches, and he's made more receptions than many have expected entering this offseason. As of now, he is listed with an upper hand over the UDFA that has had a lot of hype on social media.
Jamaal Williams trending as RB2 after Kendre Miller injury
Kendre Miller's injury could be his undoing, as he dimply cannot stay available . Accordingly, the Saints chose the more proven, safer option to list as their main backup running back behind Alvin Kamara.
As for Williams, the hope is that he can bounce back from a stagnant 2023. He should have a larger red zone role under Klint Kubiak. That seems more likely with this latest roster update from the Saints.
Khristian Boyd rivaling Bryan Bresee for interior snaps
Boyd is the definition of taking advantage of opportunities. He was a sixth-round pick in this year's NFL Draft. Many analysts/scouts thought he would go closer to round four. Maybe, they were correct in his evaluation.
He's been one of the most explosive linemen so far in Saints camp, and his motor runs hot. Boyd is consistently bringing energy to the defensive line that has dealt with some injuries in practice so far.
Now, he is listed as a second interior defensive lineman, alongside 2023 first-round pick Bryan Bresee. Both will play a role in 2024 for New Orleans.
