A prominent New Orleans developer and hotelier has died from injuries he suffered in a crash last week.

Joe Jaeger died in a Northshore hospital Sunday morning. NOLA.com first reported his death , citing Jaeger's attorney and longtime consultant, Mike Sherman, who said Jaeger suffered multiple fractures during that crash.

A Louisiana State Police spokesperson says that crash happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday on LA 25 near J Core Road south of Folsom. According to the LSP spokesperson, Jaeger was turning onto the highway from a private driveway when his pickup truck was struck by another pickup truck. The driver of the second truck was not injured.

Details of the crash remain unknown.

Jaeger was the owner of the largest group of hotels in Greater New Orleans, including the Jung Hotel and the Bourbon Orleans. Jaeger also owned the Plaza Tower. He put the building up for sale in 2023, nine years after he purchased it.
