WNBA Fans Are Thrilled With Christie Sides' Decision on Caitlin Clark

This past Sunday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever blew at 15-point lead over the Chicago Sky — ultimately losing the game with an 88-87 final score.

Clark set her career high in assists with 13, but the WNBA's No. 1 overall pick wasn't aggressive in looking for her own shots down the stretch.

On Tuesday, Fever coach Christie Sides was asked to address Clark's lack of offensive aggression late in the game.

In her response, Sides revealed that she's given Clark the "green light" to take as many smart shots as possible.

“I think sometimes she’s being a little too unselfish… I think she turns down some shots. I’d like her to take some shots that, when she comes off, she knows she has the green light," Sides said, via Matthew Byrne.

WNBA fans are thrilled for what this could mean for Clark's offensive production.

"Caitlin Clark in the next game…" one wrote.

"CC HAS THE GREEN LIGHT Y’ALL, WE CHEER," another said.

"Green light for Caitlin Clark. Finally. I’ve literally been waiting for these words! Christie, please make sure you say these words directly to 22. Trust me, you won’t regret it," another added.

Clark and the Fever will face off against the Seattle Storm in their next matchup on Thursday night.
