ESPN Gets Massive Roasting After Epic NBA Draft Fail

During Wednesday night's 2024 NBA Draft, ESPN made a huge error by showing the incorrect player while announcing the picks.

They showed Tidjane Salaun instead of Dalton Knecht, announcing Knecht's name but displaying Salaun's image, which has led to fans roasting the network all over social media.

Knecht, who has risen from a Northeastern Juco to Tennessee to the NBA draft, is a promising player. Last season at Tennessee, he averaged 21.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Salaun, on the other hand, is seen as a bit more raw than Knecht, but many analysts believe he has a high ceiling. In the 2023-2024 season, he averaged nine points, four rebounds, and one assist per game for Cholet Basket in the LNB Pro A league.

Although ESPN might be hoping their mistake went unnoticed, fans are making sure the network knows about it on social media.

"Last time I checked that's not Dalton Knecht," said another.

It's a bit surprising considering ESPN usually nails their graphics even during the most mundane moments.

"Draft started off perfectly," added another individual sarcastically.

Although ESPN initially made the mistake, they later corrected it and showed the correct Knecht.

The highly anticipated 2024 NBA Draft kicked off Wednesday night. The first 30 picks were made as the first round began in Brooklyn, with the second round set to take place on Thursday afternoon. The Atlanta Hawks have the No. 1 overall selection.

While ESPN's mix-up is definitely embarrassing, it's sure to be something the players look back on and laugh at in a few years, especially if they both end up making a significant impact in the league.
