This offseason, it took a minute for the Los Angeles Chargers to make an addition to their squad. They first had to trade and cut some players to have the cap space to make any additions, so, in a way you can say they did addition by subtraction. When they did make some additions, it seemed like a few of them were guys who may be flying under the radar.

With Austin Ekeler with the Washington Commanders now, and Isaiah Spiller and Elijah Dotson had still not shown any flashes of being the guy for the team. So, it was clear the Chargers needed to add to the position group. And, they did, by adding two of John Harbaugh's former players on the Baltimore Ravens, for his brother new Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh to use.

In terms of the two they added, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards , they have two backs who worked together before. As for Dobbins, he is coming off of a brutal injury but seems to be a guy who can really help the Chargers in 2024.

He is catching the attention of some NFL experts around the league, in a very good way.

“If you’re getting ready for your fantasy football season, draft J.K. Dobbins," NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. “J.K. Dobbins, when he’s been healthy has been really good. J.K. Dobbins has zero adjustments to the offense. I like Gus Edwards, and I know he’s another one who’s familiar with the offense, who is big and can be the vulture to go down and steal touchdowns. J.K. Dobbins, if he’s healthy, he is the most talented back on that roster and he will have a monster season, provided he can stay healthy."

Last season Dobbins tore his Achilles early in the year. He says he is now 100% healthy, but the injury history certainly has to scare you. Since 2016, Dobbins has dealt with seven injuries , with a few of them being season-enders. But, when he has been healthy, he has been a running back that is one of the more dynamic in the league.

Dobbins, who can be a great three-down back with his pass-catching ability, may very well be a great option for someone's fantasy football team in 2024. However, the injury history is certainly a big scare, as always.
