The Heisman is one of college football's most prestigious awards. It is given annually to the most outstanding player in college football.

Last season's winner was quarterback Jayden Daniels of the LSU Tigers. He had 3,812 yards passing, 1134 yards rushing, and 50 total touchdowns in 2023.

Daniels, Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr., Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix, and Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. were the 2023 Heisman finalists.

Andy Staples of On3 Sports made a prediction about the 2024 Heisman winner on Tuesday. He thought that the winner would have +2000 odds or more.

He mentioned that 2020 Heisman winner Devonta Smith was not on any watch lists for the award to support his claim.

"...We’re due for an out-of-nowhere Heisman winner," Staples said. "Devonta Smith, who didn’t appear on any Heisman watch lists going into the 2020 season, was the last one."

The betting favorites to win the Heisman this season are Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel. However, Staples would not be surprised if the winner came out of nowhere.

"The books seem confident this offseason that Georgia QB Carson Beck (+750), Ewers (+900) and Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel (+1000) are the most likely candidates, but then the numbers get big fast." Staples said.
