It’s been more than a decade since the last college football video game was released for major platforms. Some fans are realizing they have to shake off the cobwebs before getting behind the controller. While this game features tons of new ways to experience the college football world, from NIL to the transfer portal, to names of real players, folks are adjusting to some of the most basic parts of the game.

One of the features giving fans the most trouble seems to be kicking long field goals. Some fans might have better luck trying to kick a fifty-yard field goal in real life than behind the stick.

“You've gotta have the hand eye coordination of a world renown heart surgeon to kick tough field goals in College Football 25,” Samuel Brown posted.

This video from Barstool Gametime gives us an idea of just how quickly you need to time kicks based on the length of the field goal try.

Fans are finally starting to understand what it can feel like to be a kicker on college football’s biggest stage.

"Field goals in College Football 25 are too hard and unrealistic,” PFF College wrote seemingly mocking fans complaining about the difficulty of kicking.

If you’re able to make one from 45 yards out, it might be worth bragging about. That’s exactly what Big Nick did.

“Making a field goal is actually clip worthy now thanks to College Football 25,” he wrote.

Making matters worse, it doesn’t seem the computer has much difficulty making field goals from far out.

“One complaint about NCAA25 so far, the computer will not miss field goals. I'm the home team with a full red stadium bar controller going crazy and the computers kicker will kick a 62-yard field goal right down the pipe before halftime when their career long before that was 36,” Grant wrote.

This attempt basically says it all.

Several other accounts are trying to give gameplayers tips on how to improve their kicking skills, and the ones who master it might have a late-game edge against players who are getting the timing down.
