    Texas Tech grant provides new equipment to local emergency services

    TERLINGUA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Terlingua Fire and Emergency Medical Services received equipment from a grant through the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso. Equipment included mobile Starlink internet, mobile radios, Surface Pro tablets, and cell phones boosters.

    The Department said the equipment will be used to improve communications and connectivity, supporting community paramedicine, 911 operations, as well as future telemedicine offerings.

    Terlingua Fire and EMS also said it is excited to put this equipment to use immediately to provide better service for residents and visitors of South Brewster County.
