The WNBA All-Star game against Team USA lived up to the hype. During the All-Star's 117-109 win over the women's national team, the latter of which will go on to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, multiple records were broken.

The Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale put up 32 points, a new All-Star record. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark recorded 10 assists, a new rookie record. As for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, she became the first rookie in WNBA history to score a double-double during an All-Star game.

After the victory, Reese stopped by ESPN's broadcast booth and revealed she received the nod of approval from their All-Star head coach, the legendary Cheryl Miller.

"I'm starting to like you," Reese recalled with a huge smile. Receiving a compliment from Miller, a three-time Naismith Player of the Year, who once put 105 points in a single game in high school, is definitely something to smile about.

However, fans had strongly mixed reactions to Miller's comment. One person posted , "I could tell when she didn’t start angel and didn’t give her a lot of minutes she didn’t like angel . I was calling Cheryl all types of names on my timeline."

Another person commented , "Idk how to feel abt this but imma hold my tongue and celebrate," while another fan added , "If Angel going to laugh it off i will too but im side eyeing Cheryl."

However, not all fans took offense. One woman posted , "All the Sky fans mad and protective of Angel but Cheryl is a jokester. She meant no harm and it was just a funny." Another fan wrote , "Awe, I love this. Angel had a coach/auntie moment with Cheryl."

While Miller didn't include Reese in the starting lineup, the rookie played 18 minutes and finished the night with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
