Candace Parker is without a doubt one of the greatest to ever to play women's basketball. The three-time WNBA champ pretty much did it all in her decorated 16-year career, which includes two MVP titles and no less than seven WNBA All-Star appearances.

This is exactly why the recently retired WNBA star has a fairly good idea of what rookie sensation Caitlin Clark is going through right now. For her part, Parker is more than happy to share whatever advice she can with the 22-year-old as the 2024 first overall pick navigates the dizzying world of her immense popularity.

In a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Parker recalled her encounter with Clark right before the NCAA tournament.

"I was just like, ‘Enjoy it. It goes so fast . The days are long, but the years are short,’"  Parker said of her message for Clark.

"And that’s really how it is where you look up and you’re just trying to grind and get to where you go. And then you look up and you’re 10 years in and you’re 15 years in, you’re 16 years in. So, I just said, ‘Enjoy it. This is a game. This is a game of basketball that we all picked up because we loved it. So, you’ve got to play that.’"

The Indiana Fever guard has just passed the midway point of her rookie campaign, and she still has a ton of basketball ahead of her. However, as Parker said, the years just fly by. The best piece of advice the WNBA icon can give Clark is for her to just enjoy the ride.
