Juvenile arrested for attempted murder following 3 shot in Perry Co.

PERRY COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Indiana State Police have arrested a juvenile for attempted murder following a shooting at Rainbow Lake.

ISP says a dispute between two groups of juveniles led to the shooting.

Officials with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office say two victims suffered gunshot related injuries with one needed to be taken to the hospital and the other airlifted to Louisville. Another person was injured by broken glass at the scene but was not taken to the hospital.

Sheriff Alan Malone says he cannot confirm the current conditions of the victim at this time.

It was previously reported that more than one suspect was in custody following the shooting.

However, Sheriff Malone confirms there is only one suspect at this time under the age of 18.

Sheriff Malone says deputies and Indiana State Police were on scene until approximately 5 a.m. this morning.

At this time, none of the names in this investigation are being released.

• Attempted murder
• Aggravated battery
• Battery with a deadly weapon
• Battery resulting in serious bodily injury
• Pointing a firearm
• Dealing marijuana
• Possession of marijuana
