Paul Finebaum Reveals Reason Behind Feud With Lane Kiffin

Lane Kiffin is a polarizing figure in college football, with fans either strongly supporting or disliking him.
ESPN's Paul Finebaum has been one of Lane Kiffin's harshest critics. Finebaum told Tulsa World's Berry Tramel that while everyone thinks Kiffin is hilarious, he doesn't find him that funny. He even called Kiffin's coaching underwhelming at times.
At SEC media days, there was a viral moment when Kiffin told Finebaum that he wasn't sure what he was good at due to Finebaum's many past wrong predictions. However, Finebaum clarified that there isn't exactly a feud between him and Kiffin. He mentioned they are actually friends, but Kiffin blames Finebaum for getting him fired when he was the head coach of USC.
"We text; we're friends," Finebaum said. "He just can't seem to get over something that 11 years ago on "College GameDay," he claims that I got him fired. I think there's a lot of truth to it, by the way."
Kiffin said the athletic director and the president of USC were watching "College GameDay" when Finebaum called Kiffin a joke and the "Miley Cyrus of college football coaching." Finebaum suggested that Kiffin should be fired, and later that night, he was indeed fired.
Kiffin mentioned that if he hadn't been fired from USC, he wouldn't have worked for Nick Saban at Alabama, and he wouldn't now be the coach of a team poised for a College Football Playoff berth. So, in the end, everything seemed to work out.
