    Coon Valley celebrates 175th anniversary with community event

    175th Anniversary Celebration

    COON VALLEY, Wis. (WKBT) -- The Village of Coon Valley celebrated a major milestone Saturday.

    Coon Valley hosted an event to mark its 175th anniversary. The event began with a waffle breakfast at Coon Village Hall, which was followed by a parade.

    Attendees also enjoyed live music, played softball and participated in a treasure hunt.

    The village historian said it's very exciting to connect with new people and the different generations of the community.

    "It's been so exciting. It has been great meeting new people and people in the community I didn't know. My family is about 6 generations deep here, and so it has been great meeting people that I haven't met yet and working together just to bring a beautiful day together," said Sheila Jubera, Coon Valley village historian.

    The celebration concluded at 10 p.m. with a fireworks show.
