A PGA tour event that’s been played in central Kentucky since 2018 is moving west next year. The ISCO Championship, formerly the Barbasol Championship, was held at Keene Trace Country Club in Nicholasville, with the most recent edition ending July 14th. Charla Reed is the executive director of Visit Jessamine, the county’s tourism bureau.

“We were just happy and honored that we had a PGA event in our county. So, you know, we were sad, but we also are still very happy that they are keeping it in Kentucky.”

Next year’s ISCO Championship will be held at Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville. Reed said though it’s gone now, the tournament was a good long-term thing for the county.

“A lot of people weren't aware of all that we had here in our area, and it was a great way to introduce Jessamine County, as well as the central Kentucky area, to a new crowd.”

Reed said some of the golf fans who came to watch the tournament told her they’ll be back to sample other area attractions.
