LAPEL, Ind. — Online jail records say that Noblesville Fire Department Captain Brett Etherington, 55, was arrested Saturday morning on domestic battery charges.

Etherington has been placed on administrative leave by the NFD as the case is under investigation. He was booked into the Madison County Jail around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

He was off-duty at the time of his arrest.

Etherington was formally charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury, which is a level 6 Felony in Indiana.

Etherington also played basketball for Butler University from 1987-91, and holds the record for most steals in a single game during the 1990-91 season.
