A 16-year-old faces charges in connection with a shooting at a housing complex in Norwalk that injured a teen.

Officers responded to the Roodner Court Public Housing Complex at 261 Ely Ave. just before 7 p.m. on Saturday on a report of shots fired, according to the Norwalk Police Department .

The first officers on scene found evidence of a shooting but could not immediately locate a victim, police said. Shortly thereafter, police learned that a 15-year-old victim had been dropped off at Norwalk Hospital and was suffering from a gunshot wound not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives assumed the investigation and, according to police, “gathered enough evidence” to charge a 16-year-old. The teen faces charges of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Police said the teen was remanded to juvenile detention.

    The shooting remains under investigation.
