A busy road connecting parts of East Norwalk will be partially shut down for the next 8 months. Beginning Monday, the road going under the Osborne Avenue railroad bridge will be closed to traffic until March of 2025. It’s all part of the $1 billion Walk Bridge project that seeks to revitalize a crucial piece of infrastructure in one of the busiest rail corridors in the country. “Replacing 100+ year old bridges is important to speed up train service,” state Sen. Bob Duff says. “The same will be happening to the Fort Point, East Avenue, and Strawberry Hill railroad bridges as part of the Walk Bridge project." Officials say pedestrian, residential, and local business access will be maintained for a majority of the closure, and that commuters should follow all detour signs. "
